Eggs in a Basket
Ingredients
1 egg 1 slice of bread 1 tsp butter salt to taste pepper to taste
Steps
1Gather ingredients.
2Use a cookie cutter to cut out your favorite shape in the center of each piece of bread.
If no cookie cutter is available, gently tear a hole in the middle of your bread.
3Butter 1 side of each piece of bread, including the cutout pieces, with the remaining butter.
4Heat griddle to medium-high heat.
Melt 1 tsp. butter on griddle.
5Place the bread on the griddle with the butter side down.
6Break 1 egg into a small dish and gently slide it into the hole in the bread.
Cook until the egg is golden on the bottom, 1 to 2 minutes.
7Using the spatula, gently flip to cook on the other side, about 1 minute.
Place on serving plate and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
